2 One of my favorite outfits for summer is a slouchy shirt and shorts. I found this awesome top in Anthropologie, a lovely combination of colors, stripes and cool design. White shorts have always been one of my best basic items, they pretty much match with everything! The necklace makes the apparel more fun. Clearly I have an obsession with bikes. First of all because my bike is my main mode of transportation, secondly bikes symbolize the great aspects of urban living, freedom and movement. Biking Stripes. (more…)

2013-06-09 17.45.55 I bought these shoes about four years ago and they quickly became my loyal companions. I took them everywhere! They are so comfortable, perfect shape and great material (leather). Of course they look kind of old, because I wear them a lot! So why not give them a second life? I bought the “Meltonian Shoe Cream” in Silver and also had this white shoelace. Now I have a new Galactic Shoe Style. Easy job ;) (more…)

Osklen 1 Osklen was launched in 1989 by Oskar Metsavaht, a specialist in sports medicine and mountain climbing. He started this project with a sportswear clothing line. Then, Osklen expanded this approach to a fashion “lifestyle” line, that includes laid-back sporty / chic aesthetics, simple silhouettes , high tech fabrics and an environmental focus. This brand is super cool, I love their collections, prints and basics. Here I show my favorites for Summer 2013 from the collection “ California”. (more…)

Diane Vreeland 1 A few days ago I watched a stunning documentary on Diane Vreeland. She is big inspiration, and an amazing, powerful and wonderful woman who created beauty and magic. The Eye needs to travel through her documentary that show her professional life and her legacy in fashion. Diane had this taste for the extraordinary and for  extremes. Magazines used to be about how should women fit in with their husbands or cook a pie. But she said “ pie? Who cares about pie! ( laughing )” . That is when everything changed....she gave fantasy to fashion. (more…)

1 Giving things a second life is essential, first because it is confusing and messy to have “too many things” without using them, and second because it is fun to make something your own way. Your own creations have a more meaningful value... it has your own ID. For this opportunity I worked with a lamp. I had the two pieces of voile linen in different textures. I applied the plain one to wrap the lamp screen, then I affixed the material to it. I used the the washed wrinkle fabric to embellish the lamp with an organic flowing texture that looks like flowers. the fashion designer survival guide If you are a designer and you want to built your own brand this book is for you. It has been a great guidance for me because it tells you about the “Real Fashion World”. In the case you would like to be an entrepreneur you need to know how the business works. What I like the most is that the actual designers tell their stories, young designers like Zac Posen and industry veterans like Donna Karan and Tommy Hilfiger. (more…)

ambas 1 A good friend of mine told me about this brand called Ambas. Ambas was created by Sophie Galeras y Mollinedo in Italy. The idea was to create a "beachwear" collection, where the fabric is the protagonist of the story. Its main focus is directed to lightness, finesse and fashion. Ambas creates a fusion between the  sophisticated european women and the american style simplicity. They use materials such as cotton gauze and cashmere gauze . Both of these materials are handwoven and dyed exclusively for the brand. Here I show a selection of the “classics” of Ambas. They also have bathing suits in Italian light velvety lycra with a touch of chic glamour. Beautiful concept! Here is the link of the website: www.ambas.it (more…)
