God I would have loved to live in the 60`s and the 70`s! It was just too good! The music, fashion, historic changes.. it was all happening. Now we have that reminiscence of the past that we view in a nostalgic way. Yet , we are slowly adapting those codes into our daily lives. New Vintage is like a new lifestyle, keeping the best from the past and mixing it with the present. Gracious aspects of life combined with long lasting things that you genuinely want to take care of. Today I`m wearing this beautiful and colorful printed blouse from BCBG, high rise jeans from Joe`s, leather shoes from Chile ( Pez ) and my sunglasses from a vintage fair. It is not easy to find the right fit for high rise jeans but these pair has turned into my loyal daily jeans, I totally recommend them! Happy with my kind of "That`s 70`s Show" style walking toward Capitol Records ; ) xoxo Mila
Awesome winter Angeleno ; ) It`s warm during the day and it gets colder at night, but still is pretty good! Here we are with my friend Eric, the photographer, checking out the amazing view from Griffith Observatory. This is by far one of the best views of the city. The sunset and the fog creates a very particular mood, kind of dramatic yet very unique. I`m wearing a Safari look mixed with classic basics. Earthy toned colors, classic trench coat, boots, white top and a hat. I know... I`m obsessed with hats! I just feel they go well with pretty much everything, especially for daily outfits it adds the final fearless touch. Happy Monday beautiful people! Have an wonderful week! xoxo Mila
Last Saturday I went to a class called "Introduction to Styling" organized by School of Style and located at Quixote Studios in West Hollywood. Space Cowgirl at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. This is one of the most outstanding and impressive buildings of Los Angeles. Located in the heart of Downtown LA this amazing building was designed by the Canadian architect Frank Gehry, who made the Guggenheim in Bilbao (Spain), the WAM (Weisman Art Museum) in Minnesota and many other remarkable constructions. Gehry stands out by his multiple geometric metal structures, playing with organic simplicity and polished minimalism. It has a futuristic vibe and also is home to many talented artists that play in the Philharmonic orchestra. I really enjoyed walking around and observing every single corner of this place, amazing experience! I honestly felt like a Space Cowgirl! In this production I`m wearing Stella Proseyn designs, amazing fashion brand based in LA. Debbie Talanian, creator and designer of this brand, showed her...
It was such a great experience attending the Alcantara Lifestyle Event at Vibiana, located in the art fashion district in LA. Alcantara is a high-tech luxury material manufactured in Italy. It is the choice of leading brands in a number of application fields: fashion and accessories, automative, interior design and home decor, and consumer electronics. I have to admit that I was super excited to see Yohji Yamamoto`s collection! He is one of the most remarkable fashion designers. I love his style! Yohji blends up his Japanese roots with armonios rupture silhouettes, neutral colors and timeless edginess. Yohji Yamamoto is a big influence in the Fashion World and it was a pleasure being a spectator of this wonderful avant garde fashion show, it was awesome!
Classy neutrals for fall , enduring pieces that you can never go wrong with. I feel like these are the type of garments that you don`t have to think about too much. Classic classy items such as a black leather jacket and a white blouse go perfectly together, just add a pop of color with your favorite lipstick and then you`re all set! Killer accessories always enhance your outfit, backpacks are super practical, yet they look casual and chic. Patent leather shoes add the edgy classy twist : -) All the power for this week guys! xoxo Mila
A month ago a heard about Drum & Lace, an audio development company that creates custom sounds and rhythms for fashion brands. Drum & Lace founder, Sofia Hulquist, definitely nailed it. Music and Fashion are compliments to one another and she focuses her passions on these two synergies. Sofia was born in Florence and from an early age she was surrounded by amazing stylish ladies, fashion houses and people who worked in textiles. Sofia later moved to NY where she had the chance to meet emerging designers trying to get their brands off the ground. Sofia understood that there was a necessity to help emerging designers create a musical voice stamp that would reflect their brands and aesthetics. With her knowledge of music (graduate of Berklee and NYU) and her passion for fashion within a few weeks she launched Drum & Lace. Currently she develops music for runway shows, events,...
